Glücksburg Castle Reviews

Very uniquely built castle/palace in the middle of a lake with historical rooms and a playful and interesting exhibition style with Mannequins. The staff was extremely friendly and gave me patiently a good explanation of the connections of this noble family to various royal households as there were most prominently the Danish, then English and the Prussian Royals.

Beautiful romantic castle, with access to a lot of rooms and halls.

This castle is definitely worth a visit. We were there in the winter season so there weren’t really a lot of tourists. The water in the surrounding lake was quite still so you could see the reflection of the castle which was quite magical. You can also buy tickets for 6€ to go inside the castle, but for us, the outer view was enough as we were just passing by anyway.

My recent visit to Glücksberg Castle in North Germany was nothing short of delightful. I embarked on a picturesque journey, taking a ferry from Flensburg port to reach this historical gem, and the 45-minute ride offered breathtaking views of the surrounding waters. Glücksberg Castle itself is a charming piece of history, nestled in a serene setting. The castle's architecture is captivating, and the well-maintained grounds make for a pleasant stroll. While I didn't have the opportunity to explore the castle's interior during my visit, the exterior alone is worth the trip. The tranquility of the location and the proximity to the water create a serene atmosphere that's perfect for a relaxing day trip. I would highly recommend Glucksberg Castle to anyone seeking a tranquil escape with a touch of history.
