Visited for Beethovens 9th Symphony. Absolutely amazing performance by the orchestra, choir and the singers. It was packed full but it didn’t feel like it once you sat down. However they only had one entrance open and in the cold December air it really was an annoyance. People were queuing up for way over a hundred meter an it was moving slowly. Despite being rather early we were only able to get our seats just as it was about to begin. The 1€ fee per item to leave your coat, which is mandatory is also rather pricy. Otherwise a beautiful venue and worth the price. Parking is available close by but you need to pay for it.

Nice little village withbpicotresk old buildings and hiuses in east part of Germany and marketplace where Handel lived. At the marketplace you Will find regurlarly stands with the original 'tThuringer wurst' a rather ubspoiled meat rich local specialty of thé neighbourring region.
