Klosterruine Heisterbach Concerts 2024

A good place to use washrooms and grab a coffee if you are hiking around Siebengebirge. No entrance fee, and it’s open 24 hours I guess. (Google opening hours are misleading) We visited around 10 am and it was open .. may be because of restaurant.

I like this place. Very peaceful, I like to eat my lunch there when hiking in the area. Overall great for picking. The parking lot at the Abby is free, which makes it also a good starting point for many hikes.

Very small site. No sign or guidance whatsoever. The ruin is impressive, but that’s it. There is nothing else to do.

The Siebengebirge prides itself as one of the most romantic places in the Rhineland. A monastery was built here at the beginning of the 13th century, of which today only the enchanted ruins can be seen. A beautiful place a quiet place, I was here for a short time, then I left.

Ruins are absolutely beautiful! I found a secret back door that was really fun. From the parking lot, don't go straight into the main abbey entrance, follow the bike trail through the woods instead. There are teo lefts. Stay to the left of the fork, keep following the abbey wall and you'll come to a small door that let's you inside the abbey into a really nice garden. Then you can follow the garden path to the ruins. That was a really cool approach that kind of took me back in time and led me to the ruins.
