Stadtkirche Waltershausen Concerts

Beautiful,Surprisingly some parts of this construction structure is under weeds. Restoration has to be geared up. The town church is in a peaceful environment and the Waltershausen is such beauty. The small town has many old buildings around this church which are not well properly cared. Nevertheless, no surprise that this stadtkirche outside sourroundings are one of them aswell. I have gone through the history of this place, and I love getting to know such a historic old town in the centre of Thüringen. The Town Hall rich wood , the lady at the fountain adds beauty to this place and town church. Overall, it gave me a nice impression to click some nice photos around the gate, and it’s good to visit for a day. Also, it’s not much far from the train station. (which the standards has to be taken care)

A beautiful baroque church. It was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War and rebuilt in the 17th century. The church has the largest organ in Thuringia from the Bach period,

By chance we met the “Turner” who gave us a wonderful little private tour. We were able to briefly enjoy the acoustics, look at the organ up close, briefly in the prince's box, visit all the galleries and see that the ceiling painting is an optical illusion. We even climbed the tower and were able to enjoy the bells, the old tower keeper's apartment and also the view. Thank you very much for that. We recommend everyone to visit this beautiful church, a service and/or a concert is certainly very impressive.

A beautiful church...a tour is worth it!!!

An impressive and interesting baroque church with its interior design: with galleries like in a theater, a huge organ (consolation), a Reformation pulpit altar. Sometimes concerts. A local volunteer showed us the church with expertise and enthusiasm. Thanks!! We came across this building via an old art travel guide - the local tourism officials in Gotha or elsewhere in Thuringia apparently forgot about it - no advertising or information anywhere ☹️
