Anyone who would like to travel back in time just needs to enter this church. The original baroque furnishings are simply breathtaking. The (newer) Schuke organ is particularly beautiful in its old look 😉 Great, committed cultural program from Katorin! Recommended!!

One of the most impressive churches I have seen so far, we were there for almost an hour. Original furnishings from the Baroque period, incredible boxes, wall paintings, so many wonderful details. Very worthwhile and warm greetings to the dear gentleman, who also gave us so much love along the way!!!

Probably the most beautiful, most impressive and largest "living" church (cathedral) in Lower Lusatia ⛪🏰 When traveling to Luckau, a visit to the Saint Nikolai Church is an absolute must. In the course of my life I have visited many a cathedral, chapel, church and cathedral and my conclusion is that the Luckau Church (cathedral or cathedral would probably be more appropriate and appropriate) in no way has to hide from the other "large" places of worship. Just looking at the unique and breathtaking organ alone creates a deep feeling of awe and appreciation for the artists' craftsmanship and attention to detail. You don't have to be religious to enjoy artistic masterpieces, so a little detour is always worth it, whether you're an art enthusiast, author, media professional, historian, photographer, tourist, or traveler - everyone will find a source of inspiration and strength here. Massive columns, huge leaded glazing, a pulpit made of sandstone and various events, such as the annual Christmas mass on the morning of December 25th. where the community gathers in the light of hundreds of candles to listen to organ sounds and choir singing are just a few examples of the uniqueness of Luckau Cathedral. I would really have to go very far in order to be able to put all the impressions into words, so what I have written here will suffice at this point. Get your own opinion on your next visit to Luckau. #leaded glass #altar #columns #gallery #organ #sandstone #statues #pulpit #portal #bells #craftsmanship #domzuluckau #luckau #niederlausitz #brandenburg

Evangelical church, which was first mentioned in 1291. In its more than 700-year-old history, Sankt-Nikolai has been rebuilt, expanded and adapted to the architectural styles of the time several times. This mainly came about because St. Nicholas burned down or burned out several times. The church is located in the middle of the densely built-up old town of Lukau.
