I arrived by car sober They didn’t let me in, they said you need to rest? I have the impression that how does the security make money from this?

Had a very strange but fun experience here, arriving on a night of Fasching so that everyone was dressed in strange costumes and they played really funny music.

gave a lot of tip but one bartender asked for the security because i acidentally spiled the drink of another guy which i gave 10€ as an apology. even told the female bartender that i was sorry and i'm gonna pay for the drink. she didn't care. the friendly guy gave me the 10€ back 'cause he was sorry that the security threw me out because of THAT. Good guy, bad tender. Never again.

To me this place represents an integral part of the city of Mainz. It has something to offer nearly every day of the week and attracts a wide range of people. It's open when most other places are closed and offers a nice balance between culture and commerce. Mondays you'll usually have live Jazz for free. Tuesdays are usually reserved for up and coming Indie bands from all over the world (also free of charge). The weekends make way for Techno/ House or R&B/ Hip Hop club evenings, attracting a slightly younger or hip crowd. I deducted one star for the allowed indoor smoking in one of the bar areas. Not sure why this is still a thing in Germany when the rest of the world already caught up.
