New Museum - Nuremberg State Museum of Art and Design Concerts

I enjoyed my visit to the Neues Museum. Get ready for some thought provoking modern art!

Awesome modern art place in a very old city. The building itself is interesting and their selection of art is worth visiting. This museum is well featuring the essence of modern art.

I love the Neues Museum. Designed by architect Volker Staab (born 1957), it opened in 2000. The architect also designed the Museum Georg Schäfer in Schweinfurt and the rehabilitation and expansion of the Jewish Museum in Frankfurt, among other works. The staircase reminded me of I.M. Pei's staircase at the Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin. Great collections of paintings and design, including Gerhard Richter, A.R. Penck, and Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand's kitchen for the Unite d'Habitation in Marseille. I also enjoyed the exhibition on the Edition Block by the gallerist René Block, including works by Joseph Beuys, Sigmar Polke, and many others.

It is a typical modern art gallery with many installations of Deutsch artists which I don't know but some works are great. I think It deserves some time from your visit in Nuremberg.
