Very industrial vibe, surprisingly decent acoustics for concerts and a good time overall. Pro Tip: Going up the stairs at the back will let you snag a better view by going down on the sides near the center during more crowded times. We had a permanently active safety light but a fantastic view. Moving to the back middle at the top will also sometimes net you a fantastic view albeit being a bit far away. See photos. Parking is sometimes a little limited depending on the amount of people attending.

I attended a metal concert here and decided to take a walk from Oberhausen Hbf, which took around 20 min. The venue is not massively big (Turbinenhalle I ca. 1500 attendants), so you will have a chance to be close to the stage in front. The venue itself is a refurbished old powerplant, and keeps its industrial facade, so the entrance looks old and could be more attractive. But this keeps its mystique. There are several very clean WCs, and a locker room that works on a ticket system: You buy tickets that can be used for beers or locker. There is a parking lot right in front, and in the vicinity, you can find Mcdonald's, a very tasty Döner Kebap, and a higher-profile sushi restaurant.

Word of warning: do NOT attempt to park at or near the venue! We spent over an hour in stop and go traffic from the highway exit to the parking lot, only to be told at the very entrance of the parking lot that there was no more room. Pretty frustrating. The venue itself is alright. It's a pretty cool looking building, a little rough around the edges. Food and drinks were not too expensive (3 euros for a snack, 4 for a large beer) and service was quite quick.

It seems that this place used to be a factory (like a lot af stuff around this area). Sound was good but could improve the kind of echo the big place generates. Anyway, quite loud for fans of heavy music and no better place for heavy metal than a factory (original heavy metal bands originate from workers of such factories in the black country in the UK).
