Schloss St. Emmeram, Thurn und Taxis Concerts 2024

dated to the 19th century, a very strict guided tour allows you to see a part of the castle and Monastery. the tour costs 16€, in german and with audio guide for english speakers. the guide is very friendly and gives a lot of infos. you pass from the dinnerroom to fiesta hall to sleeping room to the chapel and then you take the stairs down to the monastery hallways with gothis arcades until the Court church. very impressive, dont forget to buy the guiding book since photography is not allowed.

We went to the Christmas market held here. There was an entrance fee to get in, but it was less on Monday than other days. There was a wide variety of vendors, particularly food. We found the food to be of high quality and very delicious.

Nicest Christmas market of the 20+ we visited. Small entrance fee (under€10 I think) totally worth it. Over the top beautiful event and setting.

A brilliant guided tour of the castle, unfortunately you can not take photos inside. Our guide was excellent, her English perfect. We were also incredibly lucky to be able to use the stables venue for a party, it's only permitted to be used twice a year!!

You can only see the inside with a tour, which is only at some times and days - we didn't do the tour because we would have to wait too long. So opted for the treasury and carriage museum - but the carriage part was closed because of a wedding the day before. We could see them from the balcony they said : true, but you hardly see anything. Of you like shiny things in glass boxes, the museum is interesting - there is an enormous gun collection, little info on their horses - but there was very little info on what why and when - so it kept just being things. We found it disappointing.
