Der Pappelgarten / Naturfreundehaus Römerschanze Concerts

I’m a touring Musician from Canada. I was recommended to this venue and you never know what you’re gonna get…and the entrance at first left something to be desired. Once inside, you can’t expect what you see, and there are a lot of charming & spectacular details; including seeing drums and cymbals being used for lampshades, tall and elegant candles on the tables, a gorgeous in tune grand piano on the stage, red stage curtains and suitable carpeting to make the room sound good. All of the equipment is in good working order, and meanwhile, we could help ourselves to the fridge next to the bar. This charming addition is for customers as well. A very trusting system meanwhile. I saw that most tables ordered something from the menu and all plates were empty, while the owner Tobias expressed proudly that the potatoes came from the neighbours farming efforts! Of note, There were options for vegetarian, and there were truly unique offerings, but mostly and most importantly it feels like a great live music venue. Inside and out! We had a lot of fans come to this venue for the first time (from near and far!), and though some expressed that the place was not very clean, the pleasing atmosphere, nice shareable meal offerings, the great sound and the owners fabulous reputation were gold.

Such a unique atmosphere, always fantastic live music with delicious food that has a home made quality. Dog friendly and always interesting people to meet. :)
