Valuing the house correctly is difficult. I have known it since 1990, as a “House of Meeting” run by the Evangelical Military Chaplaincy. These military chaplaincy houses (including Catholic ones) existed or still exist at numerous Bundeswehr locations. At some point the churches began to withdraw more and more. In Sonthofen, the city took over the house and tried its best to keep the building in good condition and fill it with life. Those responsible are doing this very well. A major drawback is the restaurant business, which has been dormant for years. While in the past, catering could be provided from the house, nowadays I have to rely on external caterers. Limited equipment from the “old” kitchen is still available. But otherwise the building can be used in a variety of ways and for different event/group sizes. I don't know if the bowling alley is still working.
