Martin-Luther-Kirche Sornzig Reviews

A simple little church with a great Trampeli organ, but unfortunately in need of restoration. There have been a number of events here for some time now, the proceeds of which (usually no admission, only voluntary donations) go towards maintaining the organ. In addition to cultural enjoyment, there are also culinary delights and good company. One can only hope that the organizers stay on the ball and not only help preserve the organ, but also enrich cultural life in and around Sornzig.

Bright village church of considerable size. Very valuable Trampeli organ inside, which is worth seeing and listening to. What is striking are the changing exhibitions of pictures and sculptures, which can be viewed free of charge. In addition, various events often take place in the Sornzig church. Rarely have I seen such an active “church”.

In this church I had the honor of being part of a theater performance. The church is well suited for events of this type: spacious and slightly raised chancel (good as a stage), wide corridors below the galleries (it is a double-decker gallery) with rows of seats in between, an area separated from the nave where the actors change quickly and can do the same. But you shouldn't forget the fantastic acoustics either.

A really beautiful village church in northern Saxony, which is cared for with a lot of love by the local community. The wooden altar is impressive, especially that the pulpit for the priest hangs above the altar.
