Christophoruskirche, Schierstein Reviews

A beautiful baroque church, built according to the golden ratio. The acoustics are correspondingly very good. I was able to hear the Goldberg Variations by J.S.Bach on the harpsichord with Eva-Maria Pollerus, an outstanding Austrian harpsichordist and professor at the Frankfurt University of Music. An uplifting Sunday afternoon as part of the 25th Wiesbaden Bach Week.

Saint Christopher. Patron saint of travelers. He protects me too. On my trip along the Rhine I also visited this church. It's not important to me what the appearance or condition of the church is, being here and pausing for a few minutes is the goal. The church and my stay were beautiful.

A beautiful church. Unfortunately, the church services are totally boring and unattractive for younger clientele. This is probably also the reason why the church services are poorly attended. How about guitar music and happier songs? (Yes, there are those in the Bible too) If the churches don't become more modern, I think the chances are pretty bad.

Thirty years after my confirmation, I found a spiritual home again - perhaps for the first time - in the St. Christopher's Church. The overall package is just right here: the church is beautiful and an extremely powerful place. Pastor Dr. Jörg Mohn gives sermons that are spiritual and at the same time worldly and close to life and always touch me very much. The excellent church music under the direction of Cantor Clemens Bosselmann, which accompanies the services, completes the perfect overall picture for me. Every Sunday I leave the service elated and charged with unconditional divine love.

I have called this church home for 17 years. The services are very different, there are also youth services with a band, now on Maundy Thursday for example. So first see what there is, come and get an idea.
