Inselfestung Wilhelmstein Concerts

A beautiful nice little island which you should have seen when you are visiting the Steinhuder Meer. It takes a short boattrip from Steinhude oder Mardorf to get to the island. The skipper will tell you some facts and stories about the island its self and all the small little things which happened here. For example was one of the officers, fighting against Napoleon, educated here. That abakut three hundred years ago but you can still visit the castle and walk on historical steps The rooms are small but cozy. Clean and, especially in hot summers, quit chilly. We loved it there. After 18:30 the island gets empty as all tourists who do not sleep in one of the 6 rooms, will have to catch the last ferry. After that the island is more or less yours! The sunset is breathtaking and the little dinner the, serve is delicious. So, if you want to calm down and have a brilliant stay on "your", island : defnitly go there! Historic place

It was beautiful and a lot of fun with the boat ride. It's better to get there early, later it gets very crowded

Great tip. We come here very often and every time it is very nice! Children and adults alike get their money's worth here and at the top of the tower you have a great view! The crossing alone is worth the trip 🙂 We'll be back!

An impressive place with an interesting history... a well-kept area to unwind... my tip: during the week in the low season... 👍🏻... there are few tourists and it's basically an artificial island for yourself... 🤗
