Athens Olympic Sports Center Spyros Louis Concerts

I attended a concert here march 7th,2024. The drive to the Olympic sports center was excruciating, the traffic was awful, it took 3/4 hour to move a few hundred meters. I found the parking terrible, no one knew where to go and you end up parking miles away from your entrance. Once at the entrance gate we had to wait in an unorganised,hectic line that took another 10 minutes to navigate. There are a few food stalls outside selling, hot dogs, souvlaki, bbq corn & cold water. Once we got through the gate, we had to navigate alot of stairs, before we actually got inside to the stadium. We found the seats very narrow and uncomfortable. There are a few places inside that sell popcorn & drinks. During the intermission I visited the women's bathrooms, the line was very long & once inside the toilets were dirty, with dirty toilet paper pulled up beside the toilet. I then went to wash my hands and there was no soap or paper towels to dry my hands. Because of the terrible ride into the stadium, we actually left 20 minutes before the end of the show so that we wouldn't get stuck in traffic on our way out. That being said, the actual stadium is very impressive.

Back in 2004 was a dream place … bow after almost 20 years silly greek governments have just left the place with minimum maintenance… ok its still nice but could be better.

The 2004 Olympic Games in Athens Greece was truly magical. Not only was Greece due to have the games finally return Athens never looked better. The city was the cleanest and nicest it ever was as far I can remember anyway. They truly had put on a show. That said, I’m very disappointed as to how this village has ended up. It’s totally deserted. At least it was when I last visited. Maybe it’s changed since and improved? I would love to return to find out. Nevertheless it was awe inspiring to visit and see the grounds. 👍☺️

The first time I visited this place was a week ago where I went to a concert by Ghost featuring Candlemass and Rotting Christ! It was a total blast so it will always have a special place in my heart.

One of my favourite places for exercising in Athens and not only!!In very good condition for everyone who want to walk,run,or go for cycling!!
