The Church of St John the Evangelist, commonly known as the Afghan Church, is an approximately 500-seat capacity Gothic Revival church in Navy Nagar, South Mumbai, built between 1847 and 1858 to commemorate soldiers of the Anglo-Afghan Wars. As India's first example of Gothic Revival architecture, it features stained-glass windows, high ceilings, and a 198-ft bell tower, serving as an Anglican place of worship and a hub for concerts.
