The Venue, Prince of Wales Hotel Concerts

There is no prince of Wales Hotel anymore, it's just a centre for asylum seekers, easy money for the owners, but the locals are missing out on another popular food and drink facility.

We loved our stay in this hotel. Staff are very friendly. The room was on the smaller side but that didn't bother us. We loved the crunchy bar with the note "Thank crunchy it's Friday".... its the little things! We hasd a lovely meal in the bar. It's right in the center of Athlone so everything was in walking distance. We would stay here again

It was only for a one night stay but a memorable one. The room was lovely and quite with everything you'd need to hand, iron, ironing board, hairdryer etc. We ate dinner there that night and wasn't disappointed. The food was lovely followed by a great breakfast. Highly recommend the scrambled eggs 😋. The staff were lovely also. There was free parking which is always a plus and as for the location, it was spot on. Right in the centre of things. Everything was within walking distance. Will definitely return.

From start to finish our stay was top class! The friendly reception staff gave the 3 of us a fantastic welcome, advised us of hotel amenities and suggested other places of interest around the town. Our room was spotless clean and well equipped with coffee machine (pods supplied too) tea, kettle and even a crunchie each as it was Friday! The shower in the room was also amazing. We ordered bar food to which again was top class. I would return again in no a heartbeat and have no hesitation to recommend to others
