The Great Northern Hotel Concerts 2025

I stayed there in March 24 with my dad, my daughter and my sister. The staff are so friendly and helpful in all areas of the hotel. The hotel is being done up at the moment and the new touches are fabulous. The reception area looks so good and the lobby is very comfortable. My only complaint was the double bed mattress . It was very uncomfortable and flimsy. I have a bad back and I tossed and turned all night. I hope these will be changed as part of the refurbishment. I’d like to give a mention to the young girl behind the bar. I can’t remember her name but she has long black hair. She is so friendly and has a great personality and nothing is too much trouble. Beautiful spot on the edge of the world. Spacious accommodation and lovely facilities including the leisure centre. We were warmly greeted by Ciara and Charlotte on reception and Aidan and his team looked after us in the bar. Yummy P⭐️ Martinis! Dinner in the restaurant was very nice. The salmon and prawn starter could benefit from a piece of melba toast but otherwise so nice. The fresh hake was sublime. We had a mini crisis but Lorraine in housekeeping saved the day. Look forward to visiting again, for longer and hopefully won't leave it another 15 years.

Hotel is not worthy of a 4* and i am not critical. The hotel was freezing cold all throughout. Our bedroom was freezing and quite dated. Had to ask for an electric heater for our room which stayed on for the duration of our stay and our radiator in the room was warm. Food in restaurant was good, but breakfast was so limited and buffet was cold. Barman was friendly and so were the girls in restaurant. So disappointed in our stay. When checking out we were not asked if we enjoyed our stay or if everything was ok but i just told the girl about our experience and all she said was sorry i will let them know. Could write a lot more.

Extremely friendly, helpful staff. Clean, well maintained rooms. The food is well presented and tasty too. The Great Northern Hotel ranks high on the long list of hotels I've stayed in. I definitely recommend it and I plan on returning again.

Had lovely Christmas lunch here as part of Active Age group recently. Food was great and staff were lovely and very attentive. Service was prompt, could not fault this place. Our meal was followed by live music and dancing. Perfect day all round.
