Went to Whelan's on St. Patrick's day. Great variety within the venue. Downstairs was basically a pub, upstairs there were two areas with live music, a smoking area, and a few bars. Even on a crowded night, no trouble getting drinks. Friendly staff, great sound. All in all a lovely venue.

We popped in for a pint and had a fantastic time. The group of people having a jam session, with their mandolins and guitars and such, in the front of the bar made it a quaint and enjoyable experience. And the bartenders knew their stuff and gave us a good rec. Def go!

Great venue with excellent sound. Get there early for prime standing spots.

Amazing small venue for great gigs. Went there to see The Rumjack and it was absolutely amazing. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the prices are pretty good comparing to the rest of Dublin. After the gig there was also a Silent disco upstairs. Pretty fun experience if you’ve never been

Great little venue, quick bar service, but the PA wasn't really loud enough for the gig (Bob Vylan), although that may have been a band rather than venue issue. Hard to say.
