Jerusalem Theatre Reviews

Jerusalem culture club. Great location with a good public transportation. Always warm and cozy atmosphere. Ticket price depends on the show and usually it’s totally reasonable. Main hall of the theater presents an exhibitions of contemporary Israeli artists. Restaurant is usually full before the show and the food there is awful. There is a small coffee shop also that serves coffee and pastries on the go.

I have been to the Sherover Hall of the Jerusalem Theatre. I had problems to find the bathroom, because the signs are missleading. Anyway, I give it 5* because of the light opera I have enjoyed. First more to the theater. It has it all: elevator for people, who need it. Help for hearing impaired and help for seeing impaired. They also text in Hebrew, when the play e.g. is in English. How good that text is to read even from the last row, I don't know, because I neither was sitting so high up nor can I read Hebrew. Now to the light opera. It was the "Wizard of Oz". The LOGON group was amazing - and that means everything including the scenery. Using digital help for it was a good idea with a good result, the costumes were magnificent, but most of it I adored the actors. Everyone of them. Allow me anyway to be most impressed of the actors voice, who played Dorothy. She lifted me over the rainbow.

One of the main cultural hubs of the city, this is the place where the philharmonic orchestra performs, you also have a cinema and various performances of visiting theaters. Inside you also have a nice coffee shop, changing art exhibitions and an exhibition of the theater costumes. Parking might be a problem, check streets nearby.

Large theatre complex including a large auditorium at a fairly steep angle to ensure good line of sight for all. Very effective sound system, and automatic messages "personalised" to the specific audience/show. From what I could see, there is generally a new show in the main auditorium every few days, rather than long runs. I did not see a lift to the auditorium or patron toilets, which all had stairs to them, but there may be one. The lobby appears accessible, and includes a bookshop and more.

Clean bathrooms, excellent acoustics in the hall. The staff was super helpful. The Cafe could use real food.
