Mount Alfonso Fortress Concerts

Not much to see, it is free so 4 stars. Some info boards and great views. Worth a detour if you are in the area.

Well worth the climb. Great views of snow topped Appenines. Lovely but somewhat ignored Tuscan town - Castlenuovo Garfagnana.

It’s free to visit, worth going to you’re in the area. Beautiful views of the mountains and towns nearby. Enjoyable to walk around. Would be a good location for a picnic and the high walls make it mostly safe for children. DON’T ATTEMPT TO WALK TO IT! We almost did, but due to time we drove (It has a small free car park). Google maps makes it look like an easy walk but it’s not. You’d also be walking on roads which are tight so dangerous with cars.

360° views over the Garfagnana valley and the mountains on either side. Nothing particularly amazing to see on the site but worth visiting for the views if you're staying in the area.

Good observation point on the valley from the castle wall with binocular. Worth to wisit obly if you have time.
