The staff were lovely, the archaeological dig was exceptionally interesting. Set in a glorious situation with fabulous views. The area was quiet and set in a peaceful area. The museum was even more interesting. The adjoining cafe served very good food and wine with comfortable seating, set in beautiful gardens. This place is well worth a visit 😁

A worthwhile experience as part of a visit to Fiesole. It is remarkable that this Roman amphitheater is still present after so many centuries. Modern Fiesole is a small hilltop town, and yet in the history of occupation here, this amphitheater was built and the nearby baths. The view from the amphitheater out over the surrounding hills is beautiful. Sitting in the amphitheater, you can imagine the seats being occupied by Roman spectators 2000 years ago.

Seeing these ruins was such a highlight of our trip! There were about 10 other tourists there when we were on a beautiful spring afternoon so we felt like we had it almost to ourselves … a great respite from crowded Florence. The backdrop of rural Tuscany was the icing on the cake. No lines and affordable admission!

Very nice small ancient site. 7E pp admit is a bit high but not so bad, comparison to all else in the town. Very calm (March, weekday), nobody around, have the place to yourself. Ancient baths, latrine, arch on right, religious site on the left, theatre in the middle. Audio/video (tablet) guide with admit (don't forget! most folks do), the presentation is actually pretty good. Audible, clear (english), descriptive, not too long or boring. Cafe and clean WCs right by the door. Cafe has a decent view of the hills and site. No much to complain about. Bus 7 ~30mins from SMN, nice drive through city, winding up the hills to Fiesole, a tiny town. 1.7E pp tix, buy at any small shop.
I came on the perfect day! Someone was practicing for their concert later on that night. The views are great and it's so peaceful out here. Sadly, I didn't get to explore the museums, but the walk around the property was beautiful! I got to sit down and enjoy some music before closing time. ❤️🎶
