Teatro Carlo Felice Reviews

We were at the Nicolo Paganini Prize concert. I really liked the building and interior decoration of the opera. comfortable chairs, the concert lasted five hours, but we were not tired. A good cafe to visit during intermission.

I went to the Cafe that's part of the theater complex. The comforting minestrone with pesto was the perfect antidote on a brisk Genovese day. Service excellent.

Aldo Rossi, Incredible shape and feeling, the only pitty thing is this place is closed(4.30pm,Sunday), Maybe you could consider open this great building to public visit during weekends

Opera season opening night. I won't lie, could have not been worse for us. The theater was nice as always, staff is spot on and the buffet is surprisingly reasonably priced... The evening was ghastly though. Opening night, sure, but it certainly wasn't necessary (and it was a bit pathetic) to have the Mayor and the Region's President give a speech. Please get on with the show. Or, DON'T!! I would have never thought I'd walk out on an Opera... Midsummer Night's Dream, stuff out of my worst nightmares. Choppy and gloomy music clashing with the effervescent and comical essence of the source play; Oberon was either a bad choice of male soprano or just forced to sing in falsetto; Lysander and Helena seemed more fit for Musical Theatre, and Oberon, basically the engine of the story, didn't have any proper singing line, and he talked in the most undecipherable accent. Tytania was nearing excellence, the costumes were really good, and the scenes, consisting of moving trees and mood setting green screen backgrounds, spoke of big production. Still nothing was enough to keep us until... The end.
