Big concert hall. Seats are generally comfortable but if you sit in the gallery part, some places have visibility issues. The bar and canteen capacity is very limited if you are trying to buy something during the pause in the show, you can't due to the long queues...

Beautiful, interesting concert hall! We watched the Navy orchestra. I would recommend they dust as we were in balcony seats and you can see the thick dust all over the wood. Lots of stairs.

The auditorium is composed of three independent sound boxes. Elegant architecture and perfect acoustics. We very much enjoyed our evening there. Definitely a must visit when in Rome.

First off, the sound quality in this concert hall is absolutely perfect. The level of detail you can discern from the various instrument sections is quite unrivaled in all the concert halls I have attended to date (especially my regular, the Sydney Opera House). The Orchestra of the Academy of Santa Cecilia is world-class and was expertly conducted by Jakub Hrusa on the night we attended. To note a few wrinkles, this concert hall is in a fairly far-flung location that isn’t quite reachable by metro, so we took a taxi in. As the taxi could not go all the way up to the auditorium, we (as tourists) became quite concerned as to how we would compete with the 2500-odd people for taxis after the concert. The signage for your seat is also quite difficult to comprehend for non-locals so I would suggest arriving at least 30 minutes early to scale the Great Wall of steps up to the concert hall and find your seat. Despite the difficulties of the concert hall’s design, the staff on duty were the most helpful folk even though we did not speak half a lick of Italian. It appears there is a “taxi stand” desk at the counter near the box office and we managed to flag down the staff member who was in charge of ordering taxis for concertgoers just as she was heading out at the end of the concert, and she got us into a taxi in about two minutes. I was very impressed with the service level on display and hopefully my next visit will be less eventful.

A beautiful, modern music hall. A fantastic experience seeing the young orchestras. Well worth a visit.
