Amazing place, very big so you can lose yourself in it..an old church with frescos will wait for you and you will be amazed to be immersed in ancient art

Such an oasis of quiet and tranquility. We found this treasure by accident when our regular hotel was booked up. The magic of this place transports you back in time as you imagine what it may have been like as a noble Roman owner of a large estate in the Italian countryside surrounded by hectares of olive groves and open rolling hills near the sea. The service was impeccable and the food divine. A great place to escape for solitude and relaxation. Definitely recommend this place.

We were looking for the restaurant "La Laternaia" that has very good ratings on the Fork app. Obviously, the restaurant name does not exist any more. We were asking at the reception desk of the 5 star resort Histo Relais, they said it is the same kitchen and the same restaurant. We were a bit confused, but as everything looked good and chic we ordered from the menu. Unfortunately, the food was a disaster. We ordered a raw fish plate with mint and passion fruit dressing. No dressing at all, just some frutti de mare on ice cubes. The fish plates were completely overgrilled and overfried, totally dry fish. The oil was old. You can get better fish in any beach bar along the coastline. 140 EUR for 2 adults and 2 children. A disaster for a 5 star hotel.

This was a wonderful experience. For the price, it is a very good deal. Breakfast included and what ever nationality you are, you will be very satisfied with the choices. The restored Monastery is gorgeous. The grounds are beautiful just to walk around there. I stayed three nights and it was not long enough to take full advantage of the facilities and spa. So....next time! The location, though seemingly a bit remote, fit our needs as we were visiting friends from Massafra, so it was a good place as far as location. And when in the room, which is BIG, you feel as if you are far away from it all. And this is the kind of place where you want and get that. The food is very good and fairly priced. Theme dinners, and plenty of variety. Good wines. A real treat if you are in the southern "arch" of Italy!

Friendly and efficient staff make you feel most welcome to their beautifully restructured hotel that boasts modern convenience with historical architecture. Many languages are spoken and nothing was too much trouble, including being able to speak with the most excellent Executive Chef, Gianni Carrieri, to confirm vegan dietary requirements. We were greeted with an absolute feast of plant-based ambrosia, showcasing incredible creativity, prowess and understanding by him and his team of their chosen profession. Buffet breakfast was faultless, maintaining a plethora of choice for all diets. The impressive hotel is thoughtfully modernised, pleasingly bringing together technology and archeology to this ancient masseria. You can go for walks, enjoy horse riding, cycle and explore by car to your heart’s delight, returning to the hotel and its most welcome Spa and Wellness suite, comprising sauna, steam, pools, gym and mindful opportunities. Masseuse Marcella worked her magic and once again, the whole spa experience exceeded all expectations. The hotel is set in an estate of 70hectares and provides the opportunity for a total reset of mind and body. Cannot rate this hotel high enough. The cost? For the service and experience received, it was actually quite reasonable!
