I should have save more time for this garden. I believe you can walk all the way up from the Kobe station but that is quite a hike if you are already walking around the city and the gardens after entry. Save yourself and take the cable car up. Enjoy the scenery. Lavender ice cream is at the stand beside the cable car entry for going down the hill. The cafe at the greenhouses has a specialty flavor of the season and the ice cream at the top is vanilla. Lots to smell, see and plenty of places to sit. Including hammocks. Make your own adventure here.

Amazing place ! You can spend easy all day. Very well organized clean with almost all herbs. Lots of good things to buy - oils, essences, plants. We really enjoyed! Come in the morning it is less people.

A fantastic day out. The views and gardens are gorgeous. Lots of places to eat and drink. Lots of information on the gardens too. We took the cable car up and followed the walking route down to see the waterfalls and dam. The hike has some very steep steps and I'm glad we walked down rather than up, but it's well worth the walk.

During our short stopover in Kobe, we took the opportunity to explore the herb gardens by cable car. You can choose between two types of ticket: - Take the cable car all the way up, then walk halfway up and then go back down again or - take the cable car to the top and walk all the way down. There are small cafés at the top and you can smell the different scents. There are many different plants on the way down, from herbs and vegetables to many types of flowers. There is also a greenhouse in between. Everything is barrier-free - but as it is on a hill, don't forget the incline. You can also relax in hammocks or benches in between.

Loved the ropeway ride to the top. The view from the top is very nice. There are restaurants at the top and beautiful flowers too. Normally everyone walk down from the top to the mid level station and take the ropeway. We did the same and it took a long time to get into the ropeway as the queue was very long. The total trip took about 2 and half hours. The garden and view was nice, but if time is limited better to skip the mid station. Overall it was a pleasant experience.
