Kamakura Performing Arts Center Concerts 2025

I went there last Dec 2, we watched a dance concert in the small hall. It was indeed a great show, the performance was great, receptionists are all nice and formal .. enough social distancing inside, they nicely put markings on the back part to easily distinguish which one can be used and not.

The main performance hall is beautiful, including the bamboo garden.

Visited the museum for a weekday rakugo performance. The large hall is huge and can accommodate up to 1,500 people, with seats on the third floor. The bamboo grove in the atrium's inner courtyard is spectacular.

I went to a classical concert in January 2023. It takes about 7 minutes from the station, and the road has some complicated turns along the way, but I was able to get there without getting lost using Google Maps. The acoustics may not be as good as Suntory Hall, but as an amateur, I felt they were on the same level. The performance was Mao Fujita's Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 3. I thought that the reproducibility of scenes with small sounds and scenes of cooperation with the orchestra was also high. There are some fashionable shops near the station, and I thought it would be nice to have some classical music in Kamakura, so I went home.
