Obihiro City Community Hall Reviews

Okay place...

The large hall is very spacious with seats up to the 4th floor! It was a very easy hall to use. Parking is available at the adjacent Nagasakiya parking lot. It's free and you don't have to worry about finding a place to park. However, this is an issue with Nagasakiya's parking lot. The hours were set in detail depending on the location, and if you entered from the first floor before 10 o'clock, you couldn't go upstairs or go out, which was very inconvenient. When using the civic hall, please be careful at the entrance.

The practice room of the choir I belong to was unavailable on that day, so I used the practice room. Since April, the parking lot at Bunka Hall will be extremely limited, and the parking spots will be far away, and there are concerns among our friends that this will hinder the ability to hold concerts in the future. The reality is that your favorite artists are starting to choose other venues 😔

From what I see, it looks like it was built around 1985. The construction date and the size of the large hall are the same as the Chitose Gas Hall. In the large hall, I listened to everything from the four-wind orchestra to the encore violin solo in the back rows of the first floor (the block called the second floor seats). It's a seat about three rows behind the overhang on the second floor (3rd and 4th floor seats). Being close to the stage, the direct sound was loud, and I didn't really feel the echo from above, but the overall sound in the hall was not bad. It's not as loud as a music hall like Sapporo Concert Hall, commonly known as Kitara, but it's not a multipurpose hall with almost no sound. On that day, an overhanging stage was added to the orchestra pit, and the view from the upper floor is as shown in the image. If this is the case, wouldn't it be fine to stay on the upper floor? I think that by not including the orchestra in the orchestra part, it was able to resonate to a certain extent. I've only heard of multi-purpose halls with a seating capacity of around 1,500 in the former Sapporo Civic Center, Chitose, and Tomakomai, but I can't think of any halls with such a disappointing acoustics. I wonder if the acoustics will not be bad if it goes to this extent. There are countless halls with poor sound, even music halls with seating capacity of around 1,800. There are no elevators in the hall. There is a coffee shop. It seems like you can use the toilets in the small hall when it's crowded, but about half of them are Japanese-style and I couldn't find any toilet seats. The parking lot can be used for free at the indoor multi-storey parking lot of the commercial facility next door, but it closes at 9pm and the parking lot also closes at 10pm. If the show ends after 9pm, the elevators will be very crowded.

It is the largest hall in the area. This time I went to Ayaka's live performance. I was in the 10th row so I could see it with the naked eye. I felt the acoustics were pretty good as well.
