Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Reviews

Beautiful architecture..built in the 1960s. The building is well maintained. Went here to watch The Nutcracker- the production is good..different from the Nutcracker shown at the new national theatre. Within Ueno park

Once you get off at Ueno station, just walk, the location is very close. It's in Ueno Park. The stadium is very large, usually used for musical and other performances including ballet and concerts. Several famous singers have performed here.

A large indoor stadium that was originally built for the hosting the Judo championships also now hosts music band and music shows. Located centrally in Tokyo it is quite a large stadium with over 40,000 seats. With seats spread over 4 levels you can get a good view of the performance from almost anywhere. I had been to the Ed Sheeran concert and Mariah Carey concerts recently and it was indeed breathtaking. Has many restrooms and vending machines inside for easy access. Even though it’s not purpose built for Music shows, the stadium has pretty good acoustics despite being indoor.

Went for Beethoven No 9 over Christmas Day. It was a great show however I feel like Tokyo New National Theatre have better sound. Bunka Kaikan sounded a bit unfocused

Recital hall (not the Main Hall). Two walls and the ceiling are made of concrete. It is surprising how good it sounds... everything ok, however the seats are a bit narrow.
