Good acoustics.

It was an amazing Japanese-vietnamese collaboration opera. The sound system, the surroundings and the overall ambience was very posh.

This is a music hall located in Taishido, Setagaya Ward. Although it is located on the grounds of Showa Women's University, it is open to the public and is used for off-campus events and concerts. The hall is a multipurpose hall with a total seating capacity of approximately 2,000 on the first and second floors. The hall is proscenium-style and can accommodate not only concerts but also plays. The hall is wide from side to side, shallow in depth, and has a relatively high height difference between the front and back of the seats. This hall was built in 1980, and at the time it was built, it was known as a hall with good acoustics. Many historic performances have been performed in this hall, including the Vienna Philharmonic conducted by Karl Böhm and the Bavarian State Orchestra conducted by Carlos Kleiber. I think it was a central hall in Japan's classical music world in the early 1980s. Since then, many halls dedicated to classical music, such as Suntory Hall, have been built, so there are very few opportunities for classical musicians to use this hall for performances in Japan. I think this hall is now often used for popular music and theater performances. The hall will be renovated in 2022, with new seats and interior renovations. I had the opportunity to listen to an Amaoke concert in this hall after the renovation, and I think the acoustics are quite good even now. However, compared to halls specializing in classical music that have long reverberation times, the reverberation time is still short, and the feeling that the entire hall reverberates is weaker. However, the sound is consistent and I think the sound quality is sufficient for listening to classical music. The seats were changed during the refurbishment, so they're the comfortable seating you'd find in modern halls. The lobby is also spacious and spacious. When the concert was held, there were guides standing on the road from Sangenjaya Station to the hall, and it was easy to understand the directions. Although it feels a little old, I think it is still a good hall, including the management. It is still used for recordings such as Untitled Music World. There are also many halls that have statues of musicians in front of them, but this hall has a statue of the great writer Tolstoy, not a musician.
