Shogin Tact Tsuruoka Grand Hall Reviews

What a beautiful hall! It has very unique design and the acoustic is excellent. I'm enjoying this stage very much. Can't wait for the concert tomorrow!

Unfortunately many events are canceled due to corona virus, but some students were there to study.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused by the event and the tour of the building. The design is a joint venture between SANAA (Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa) + Niiho Architects + Ishikawa Architects. The corridor-shaped entrance hall surrounding the large hall is very open and seems to be open even on this day when there are no lectures, students are studying and people who appear to be office workers are working with their computers open. , old ladies were chatting and laughing.

2024.3.6 It was established as a new cultural center in 2018. At first, the response from the office staff was quite poor, but things seem to have improved considerably now. Inside the facility, there is not only a large hall (1,135 seats), but also a small hall (180 seats), dressing rooms (6), practice rooms (2), conference rooms (2), and a nursery room. The large hall in particular is designed to maximize acoustics, as you can see from the complex roof, so you can hear a good blend of sounds during concerts and other events. However, the entrance and passageway are complicated, so getting in and out and getting to your seat can be quite confusing. The usage fee is much higher than the old hall, so that amount is reflected in the admission ticket price. When there is a large event, there is almost no parking available on the premises, so you will need to find a place nearby. In the free space in the foyer, students and working adults are busy studying or working, regardless of the time of day (there are several vending machines with ice cream and drinks). The museum is open until 10:00 pm when there is an event, and until 7:00 pm at other times. Furthermore, in the construction of TACT, there was a ``political background'' that led to the investment of tax money that was twice the original budget (approximately 10 billion yen) without sufficient discussion. Therefore, I think it is necessary to keep an eye on and monitor it so that it can be used meaningfully.

Visited to see SANAA Sejima's architecture. A roof that you can see from a distance. However, I didn't feel intimidated by the people around me, and it was nice to see the building expand outward while maintaining its height. Although I wasn't able to see the inner hall, I think it's worth going just to see the architecture. It is a reliable place with many famous buildings in the surrounding area. I was hoping that there would be a photo book of this building since there is so much of it, but I was a little disappointed that there wasn't any. I thought it would be nice if there was a little shop.
