Very informative guide with a good sense of humour, it's a bit of an eerie place with a long and varied history that the guide was very knowledgeable about. It's now got a couple of bars and a restaurant in the exercise yard and the prison is being used for more creative pursuits now. Google maps may try and take you to an old abandoned side entrance if you are on foot, the main gates are at the "Church of St. Nicholas the Wonder Worker"

Somewhat I had bigger expectations from the prison, what we will see, what stories we will hear, or overall prison vibe. Thankfully, we got perfect guide Victoria 🙏 After tour you can grab drink in outside part of prison, music was there and it was just great for chilling.

Amazing visit! It's truly awesome how they utilize this space. You can relax on the inside patio, grab a bite, have a drink and the best: you can have a tour in the prison (it was open till 2019!). We had fabulous tour guide (I don't remember a name, but we were there at 4:30pm on May 1st), with super sassy humor and vast knowledge about the place! ❤️

I had booked the tour not knowing what to fully expect. However it was great experience. The tour guide we had was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. She gave us quite an insight into the lives of the former inmates at this 100 year old former penitentiary. I would recommend to go for this.

It was very interesting. me and my husband have been to KGB museum before and this was like continuity to Lithuanian history. It's depressing and grim place but it is a part of history. The guide was very cheerful and was trying to make the whole experience more pleasant. We visited before Christmas so the place looked very festive.
