Slomškova ulica, 2250 Ptuj, Slovenia
Ptuj City Market is one of the oldest continuously operating markets in Slovenia. It was first mentioned in a document in 1094, making it over 1,000 years old. It was originally a gathering place for local farmers and producers to sell their goods. In the Middle Ages, the market became a major trading center for goods from all over Europe. It flourished in the 18th and 19th centuries, becoming a major center for trade and commerce. It declined in the 20th century, as new transportation methods made it easier to transport goods from other parts of Europe. The market was revived in the 20th century, and it is now a popular tourist destination.

Fresh produce and fruit. Prices are slightly more than in supermarkets and well worth it. There were many empty stands and wish there were more sellers.

Nice. If you get there out of the tourist season - there is nothing much to do. Many stores and restaurants are close.
