I just watched For Colored Girls at the Joburg Theatre with a friend and I'm in awe! Its on until the 3rd of March so, if you haven't watched it/ haven't gotten your tickets - go for it! Anyway, the theater was really clean and cozy. The main entrance is so precious,my friend and I had some nostalgic memories revisit us as we looked at the star plates of the likes of Sibongile Khumalo, Brenda Fassie, Miriam Makebe, and Hugh Masikela. The staff at the theatre were very friendly, professional and welcoming. The theater we were in had a rotating stage which allowed us to engage with the characters and the storyline a bit more. The way it built allows for deep connection and unlocks another dimension among the art, the artist and the viewer. To say that we enjoyed it is an understatement. I also thought that the concept of selling snacks right outside the theater to eat while watching the play was interesting but perhaps somewhat distracting as some of the food options have loud packaging.

Watched StarPower dance at the theatre. The theatre is clean and cozy. The entrance to the theatre is amazing. I loved looking at the stars that visited the theatre with their names on the entrance of the floor. Very magical experience ✨️

I have been visiting this theatre since I was a child. Wonderful to be able to continue the tradition and share treasured memories with my son. We loved the Peter Pan Pantomime this year.

Had the privilege of seeing Ms Belinda David's live and in person at the theatre that never disappoints. We had excellent seats so had a panoramic view of the stage and the entire experience. The show was fantastic she has the voice of an Angel. The lighting sound and band/ supporting artists were exceptional. The saxophonist/flutist Ofentse was magical as were the backup vocalists. The theatre offers drinks and light snacks during intermission and I always have a wonderful time there. Stellar! Great place to take kids and cultivate love and appreciation of the arts.

Performed in a concert. Nice dressing rooms. Piano wasn’t in a great condition though. Strings broken on a B and Una Corda wasn’t working at all. It was on 22 June 2023 where the Drakensberg Boys Choir performed. Several other choirs also performed that evening. And it was the Bösendorfer Piano.
