Worth a walk stunning arena and views over Bilbao

With space for 10.014 people, this place hosts the Bilbao Basket RETAbet. The construction of this stadium was in a totally new neighborhood built up from scratch over an old mine, it cost 38 million of euro and It was finished in 2010. I was watching the Bilbao Basket RETAbet playing against Chocolates Trapa Palencia, 5th match PlayOffs of Liga Oro 2018/2019 for coming to the first division ACB. The local team won over 17 points and it was a full house. The visibility is very good and it is confortable to sit. I didn’t be in the bar so I can not say anything about it but I´ve heard that you can buy some pintxos and no alcoholic drinks. Apart of the basketball court there are swimming pools and different gym for the use of the neighborhood. The building was designed by the firm ACXT-Idom and it was awarded by ArchDaily like Sport Building of the year in 2011

Big arena, can fit a large amount of people. Used for basketball games and concerts.

I attended to the MTV Concerts held the venue. Sound quality was good enough, but far too many seated places if you expect something wild.

The Bilbao Arena is one of the places where one can enjoy good basketball with fans that understand the game. Too bad there are not many food options during the games.
