Bakan Concerts 2024

What an incredible restaurant: food, waitrons, service, atmosphere, impeccable decoration, WOW! I would certainly come back here again and spend a longer time. The entrance table is unbelievably gorgeous, although I would rather book deeper into the restaurant. The mix of food options has something for everyone, with a Mexican touch. TIP: This restaurant is best without kids. ANOTHER TIP: This is perfect for dates!!

The food was super delicious! We ordered guacamole with their special tortilla, chicken tacos, mexican salad and margaritas for drinks. We loved every bite of our food. The atmosphere was fabulous! We sat outside facing Puerta de Alcala, and the decoration was so unique. As an interior designer i loved everything about their design and the decoration. The service was okay, but the reason I gave 4 stars is that the staff working there didn’t know a single word in English and it was very difficult to communicate. I don’t expect everyone to speak English, but in a very touristic restaurant there must be some people speaking English.

Normally I don’t post reviews of meals I eat, but I will make an exception for Bakan in Madrid. I was walking back to the hotel when I saw their restaurant across from the Poerta de Alcala, a beautiful arch in Madrid. It was serendipity that I stopped. The restaurant advertises itself as Mexico in Madrid. I thought eating here would be a good transition for my flight home to Texas the next day. I asked to be seated street side in part because I was wearing shorts and a T-shirt. The food was wonderful. The server helpful and attentive. When it started raining and temps fell ten degrees and they brought a a blanket for my legs to insure my comfort. If you find yourself in Madrid make a point to eat at Bakan, you will not be disappointed.

Great atmosphere. Very versatile, is a good place whether you go for a date, dinner with friends or just drinks. The Mexican food is tasty and they have a very good michelada beer which ain’t very easy to find around. I also recommend to try the Carajillo if you are going for an afternoon drink.

The food was better than I expected; however, it wasn't great. You're paying for the location, not the culinary experience. The food came quickly, and the service was adequate (in comparison to other places I have been in Spain). Additionally, we were charged for the chips and salsas, which they just brought and we did not order, and which were okay. I've had better chips and salsa at taco trucks in the USA. Overall, I would not recommend this place for a quick lunch in terms of overall value.
