Victoria Hall Reviews

Incredibly beautiful place to see a concert marred only by the rude Genevans stomping their feet for an encore. Plus no plastic water bottles to take in - despite no air circulation. Seats in the aisle block the way out and make it claustrophobic - but what an incredible building!

I Love Geneve ! Thanks to the acoustic qualities appreciated by music lovers, the hall is today dedicated to classical music and big names in the world of chanson, jazz and world music!

1. Havent seen this tacky interior since Macau casino. Have I not seen enough European concert halls (or not enough elegant casinos? I mean look at those corny murals............. 2. Coat service requires 1 CHF, learned this harsh truth after I gave my coat to the staff. If it werent for my lamentable self-consciousness, Id definitely ask it back. I understand that this is an additional service and perhaps people should be charged for that, but I did not expect the first time I was asked for a fee is from a city where its ave. monthly salary goes as high as ≈6,500 CHF. But I guess that old Chinese saying "the wealthier you are the more stingy you become" is right on point... 3. First time I ever seen a foldable audience seat with no back to support your lumbar, this is, if you still have one after almost two-hour performance. I mean it's entirely possible to connect the whole row and turn the foldable seat into normal ones, but why they havent I cant comprehend. * A guy fell asleep (and snored) during Argerich & Shostakovich piano concerto 1 1st movement - I guess that's the most luxurious nap I can imagine... *I wanted to give 1 star to the building and to the service, but the extra two stars go to the marvellous performance of the orchestra.

A very charming and beautifully decorated hall used for concerts and musical performances. It was truly amazing to be there and listen to wonderful music. I really recommend visiting it. The venue has a 1,700 seating capacity and was built in 1891-1894. and was dedicated to Queen Victoria.

Kind and highly professional Staff Great acoustic, well furnished foyer, with a bar where it is possible to have snacks and drinks, from Calvinus's beer to champagne! Great views, very good chairs! Magnifique theatre!
