we came here at sunset and it was amazing. There are a lot of buildings that are well preserved. you can wander, look and imagine how people lived here in ancient times. I would budget a couple of hours for a walk around this ancient city, because the place is truly magical. the amphitheater was preserved just perfectly, we couldn’t get inside because it was already closed, but we looked at it from above. We liked this ancient city much more than the one in the city of Side.

A massively overrated and overpriced archaeological site. Prices at Turkish archaeological sites reflect how close they are to major beach resorts. Not how good they are. The theatre is lovely but the best in the ancient world? Not even by a long way. There are so many better and cheaper sites even within Turkey. The rest of the site is very basic ruins.

An incredible place to visit. One of the best kept amphitheatre in the world which is still used for special occasions. The aqueducts and the way water was distributed around the ancient city is also awesome. The echo quality in the amphitheatre is superb. It gets very busy from May to September. It is best to visit in March when anemones and daisies are full bloom.

The theatre was so well preserved, almost too well preserved! Very impressive sight which you can thoroughly explore as everything is open to you. The steps are steep so take care when descending. After the theatre there is a path to the side of the theatre which takes you to the city ruins above, also well worth visiting though they are proper ruins which have had no restoration. I went in Spring so the area was covered in Spring flowers. Take water and sun cream as there is no shade to speak of. Near by there are ruins of an aquaduct so if you have a car they are worth seeing. You'll need to back track and turn off to the right, don't recall the name but it is minutes away and as you're in the area...

In general it was ok. The problem was we went to Side the previous day so we ended up comparing the two. The theatre was impressive but the access to the other ruins was treacherous. No maintenance on the path up the hill. Filled with large boulders and pebbles. Very poor sign posting. Parking was plentiful.
