We were lucky enough to be involved with a trial concert (our daughter was part of the choir). The venue doesn’t properly open for another couple of weeks so there were quite a few snags, not all seats were installed and not all entrances were in use. However you could already appreciate what a superb space it’s going to be, what a beautiful job has been done, the quality of the materials that have been used and the fabulous acoustic that has been achieved. We were sat in seats in the rear stalls. The seats were comfy although there wasn’t a huge amount of space. The legroom was just about okay for me (I’m just over 6 foot tall). We were in the front row of that section which I think meant we had slightly less room. The view of the stage was really excellent and we could hear the sound of the orchestra and choir very clearly and brightly. Accessing the hall was really easy and smooth. There were plenty of toilets (as you would expect in modern venues. Overall we had a great time and I’m really excited to be back in a few weeks to see the fully the venue again when it’s fully open and to experience the other halls in the venue.

First visit since the renovation and was very impressed. My overriding impression was that it was a lovely calm environment. Bar area was efficient, the toilets nice and clean (although as you go into the ladies on the 1st floor beware the mirrored wall which freaked me out a bit! Lost my sense of direction!) We were sat in the stalls and had good legroom and as our seating was slightly raked had a good view of the stage also. Sound was excellent too. Barenaked Ladies were brilliant. Looking forward to seeing The Pretenders here in the autumn.

The newly renovated rooms have amazing acoustics and the whole place looks incredible now. My photos were taken during the house warming party which was such a great event and really showed the potential of all the spaces (maybe 7 in total?) Can’t say that I was very impressed with the basement part but I really loved their main hall, the acoustics are now some of the best in Europe or so I heard! Bristol needed a concert hall so bad!! Also loved the new stage that is right next to entrance in the middle of everything. Great place! And I was really happy to find out that they changed their name from Colston Hall to Bristol Beacon. For the obvious reasons, this is the way forward!!

First time I've been here before the major renovations - mostly very impressed! It feels bigger in the auditorium now they've made less of an overhang on the first floor. We were too close to the front for optimum acoustic, but still very much enjoyed the Northern Sinfonia playing Rachmaninoff, Beethoven and Mozart. Have to say, I really dislike the new colour scheme of the seats (and I think that they'll agree very badly) but that's a personal thing! Friendly and efficient even whilst at its busiest.

Loved this venue, easy access, was up in the top balcony but still great view as right over stage. Very chill.
