Driffield Showground Concerts

Great showground, well laid out with hard standing around the main areas. Well organised for the annual Driffield show and also the steam rally. Only issue we had this year, very bad management of the parking getting in, but even worse getting out, with lots of cars getting stuck after the rain and the parking marshalls struggling to manage the queues fairly to make sure all got out evenly

Wife and I had a couple of hours at the Steam engine rally, bought back memories of a buy gone age when life and times where a bit simpler, lots of young ones there also have a good day out. We will be going next year if the wife is a bit better.

We attended the Steam Engine Rally on 13 & 14 August 2022, staying over in our motorhome. On the plus side the site had planned well for the exhibitors, who were fabulous, I've never seen so many wonderful & vaied exhibits in one place before. There was plenty of security staff & bin emptying etc was well managed. On the minus side, there were hundreds of caravans, tents & motorhomes staying on the site, visitors & exhibitors. There was nowhere to empty grey waste water & only one Elsan point for toilet emptying for all. We were there for the 30° plus daily temperatures. There is a total lack of seating available around the showground & we were all in dire need of it in the heat. No seating around the main ring at all. They seem to be unprepared for the number of visitors, it's a very popular show. My main comment would be, invest in the infrastructure as soon as possible.

I was camping there for a motorcycle rally. It was great to have real toilets and showers on site.
