You will have a hard time finding a better high end gourmet dinner in Edinburgh. From the abundant and attentive staff, the unique menu choices, and the mansion/art gallery atmosphere it would not be fair to compare this place to any other restaurant. We were a party of 7 and we had zero complaints on any food from any course that was served. The helpful friendly staff just adds to the overall experience. I will absolutely go here again the next time I'm in Edinburgh.

So glad we stayed here, very much worth the price. Service was next level and the best I experienced anywhere to date. Beautiful grounds and building. We ate breakfast and dinner at the on site Rhubarb restaurant and they were both excellent meals. We also booked directly and so got a complimentary sparkling wine which was delicious and they happily opened it for us at dinner. Afternoon tea there was one of the top highlights of the entire trip. Really lovely and would return to Edingburg just to stay here again.

Came here for festive afternoon tea and cocktails. The food and drink was fabulous. Great choice of real leaf tea. Fresh sandwiches, fruit and plain scone with jam and clotted cream selection of small cakes. Beautifully decorated for Christmas and real log fires. Dog friendly in certain rooms. Was able to charge our car for journey home which saved a stop. High end location but comparable price wise with the other afternoon tea providers with similar pedigree.

Went for afternoon tea in January 2024. Had been given a voucher for afternoon tea for 2. Nice atmosphere in the house. Eclectic furniture. Afternoon tea was substantial and the scones were delicious. My only negative would be that the staff who were doing the afternoon tea were not always visible so if you needed anything you had to wait for someone to appear. However, the staff were all very friendly through.

Opulent. Excellent service. Georgous setting. You wouldn't think you're in the city. Fantastic food. Great wedding venue.
