The Tall Ship at Riverside Reviews

An unexpected find after going to the Riverside Transportation museum. It's a reconstructed ship you can explore and learn about, with lots of space to give visitors some distance from each other. The cafe was great and we loved the gift shop. It had lots of interesting info for both kids and adults.

We visited from South Africa with our children, 6 & 9. This was a fascinating experience. It was interesting to see the living space and the opulence of the captains quarters in comparison. We were surprised at the size of the hold. Well worth the visit. It is free but we definitely encourage you to give a donation at one of the available donation points.

Very interesting, and worth the visit! You get to explore 70% of the ship, and appreciate the sheer size of it! The staff onboard are very knowledgeable and very friendly. If your at the museum, definitely give it a look afterwards, it's free of charge too. There is even a cafe below deck!

History you can stand on and walk around. One of only 2 tall ships in the UK to visit (other Cutty Sark in London). Free entry to walk above deck and below, must admit going below was a real eye opener. Huge open spaces where shipments were stored. See/read about the last voyage over over 1,000 days. Big tip here is use the cafe onboard rather than the museum as most people opt for the museum so the ship cafe is quiet (was for our visit).
