This fine Chapel was built as a Chapel of Ease for St Margarets or Kings Lynn Minster , presumably at a time when more people went to Church than these magnificent buildings could hold . It was founded in 1146 by one Bishop Turbus and has undergone many alterations and renovations since including a new steeple in 1869 built by my personal hero Sir George Gilbert Scott after the earlier one collapsed . There is a ledger slab here in memory of one Robinson Cruso who died in 1773 how cool is that . If you get the feeling you are being watched in here you may well be right . The spectacularly carved wooden angels above have their eyes on you . So be good boys and girls . On the day I was here there was a very talented gentleman restoring the magnificent screen behind the alter and under the just as magnificent stained glass window . In another life one in which I am not such a clutz I shall get a job like this . I think they are great helping to preserve our history and keeping our environment interesting . If you find yourself in King's Lynn I would certainly recommend a visit .

Visited to do Family History research on May 9th to see where my great great grandparents were married in 1860. One of The Friends group, John, met me to open up, he was very helpful & I appreciated his assistance. It's a beautiful building with a fantastic wooden roof with carved angels & a wonderful stained glass window. A very enjoyable & interesting visit.

I went to concert here. It is in prime condtion, great acoustics and very atmospheric. The concert was great and the setting certainly enhanced it. The pews were a bit uncompromising, I recommend taking a pillow. Although it was a cold night the heating was adequate
