Temple Newsam Reviews

Early morning visit I hadn't been for Years. It was incredible, everyone was so helpful, there were so many treasures, so much to see, and that's only the house. One of the staff suggested that I walk down to the lake and view the amazing display of Rhododendron and Azaleas that were in full bloom.

Just spent a great couple of hours at Temple Newsam House . Not only was it super for us grandparents but for our 3 & 10 year old grandchildren. All staff we encountered during our visit were very knowledgeable and engaging, which made our visit even better. There is a route that you follow so that you don't miss anything. There was so much to see and lots of information in each room, plus a few dress up areas for the grandchildren. And final comment, for the kids there is also a kettle hunt magnetic game that they can play during the visit. Overall a very enjoyable visit and highly recommended.

A great place to visit, a few free carparks around (although I've heard that the council may start charging for these). Great park, good cafe, lots of walks and the farm is good too. Good toilets (two, one near the house and cafe and one near the greenhouse area)

Yay! I finally managed to get to Temple Newsam to see the rhododendrons in their full splendour! It’s hard to believe that there seems to be no bus to Temple Newsam when it’s such an integral part of Leeds history. We caught a train from Leeds to Cross Gates and then walked up using Google maps. The train journey took 6 minutes and then the walk was about 26 mins. Entry to the park is free but you will need to pay for car parking if you drive. There was an event on when we arrived: Dandelions at Dawn; well done to all of the runners, organisers and supporters. It was rather warm for running! The grounds were immaculate and the rhododendrons looked magnificent with huge displays in all manner of colours along the Rhododendron Walk and throughout the parkland. Good cafe and tearoom facilities and lovely well maintained toilet facilities. We didn’t go in to the house or farm today; you will need to buy tickets to access these areas. Well worth a visit!

It is May and the Rhododendron are at their best. This has become a regular treat. The flowers and open spaces along with the Farm are worth the visit.
