The New Wimbledon Theatre offers an enchanting escape into the world of live performance, as evidenced by my recent experience watching "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." While the theater's interior may bear the marks of its age, with somewhat stiff seating, the atmosphere pulsates with an infectious energy that transcends any physical discomfort. It's an arena where shared excitement reigns supreme, drawing in a diverse crowd of families, couples, and friends, all eager to immerse themselves in the magic of the stage. Unlike the passive consumption of a movie, live theater fosters a unique bond between performers and audience members. Witnessing the tale unfold mere feet away, with no safety net of retakes or edits, instills a sense of immediacy and intimacy that is both thrilling and humbling. The seamless transitions between sets add to the immersive experience, keeping the narrative momentum flowing without interruption. London's theater scene, with its rich history and vibrant productions, is truly a treasure trove waiting to be explored. Each visit leaves a lasting impression, deepening my appreciation for this timeless art form. "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" exemplifies the power of theater to evoke nostalgia and wonder, uniting audiences in a shared sense of joy and wonderment. It's an experience that resonates long after the final curtain falls, beckoning me back for more.

First time visiting this theatre and went to see the amazing Sir Ian McKellen in player kings. Every single member of staff I interacted with was excellent. Kind , courteous and had more than enough knowledge about the play and facilities. It is a good size theatre and never felt over crowded in the bars or when moving around the building. I sat in the stalls and the view was perfect, and was as shown on the website when I booked. Anyone complaining about the view they had must have the attention span of a goldfish as it's very clear what you will get from the seat you chose. The player kings is a very very long performance, so I was even more grateful that the seating was comfortable and spacious. If I see another performance I wish to see here I wouldn't hesitate to return. The surrounding area is also filled with bars and restaurants if you wish to make a day of your visit.

I love Wimbledon theatre. We saw "I should be so lucky" this evening. The staff at the entrance dealt with the attendees professionally, scanning their QR codes to confirm admission & directing to where your seat was located. We were in the Dress Circle, row J. Great views of the stage. Easy to get a drink at the bar. Very comfortable seats.

The seat were comfortable and very sloped so no one was blocking anyone else. The theatre was easy to get to from Ealing. And the show was so so lovely. They sang brilliantly and funny too. I enjoyed the whole evening tremendously. If they do different song each week, I certainly would go again. Highly recommended.

Its a very old building with no air con so tends to get hot in there but that is to be expected from a building that age. The shows that they put on are normally very good .This month going there 3 times .The Drifters was a very good show had us up dancing and due to see 80's live show plus Heather's. Staff very helpful 👍
