St James's Piccadilly Concerts 2024-2025

Went for an evening candle lit concert with the Picadilly Sinfonietta and sat upstairs. I thought the acoustics were good. We enjoyed a Vivaldi concert with Victoria (?) White leading.. we really enjoyed some unfamiliar works first and the four seasons in the second half. Do take a cushion if upstairs as the seats were not designed for comfort!

We had an amazing 'Winter Wonderland by Candlelight' concert experience in this gorgeous church on Saturday 30 December 2023. Bravo to The Piccadilly Sinfonietta, String soloists, Pianist & opera singer. My absolute favourite was Howard Blake Walking in the Air from The Snowman.

It was my first time visiting a church, I was hesitated to come in since I am a Muslim with hijab, but they wrote on the front of the gate that they welcome all believers, I took video and pictures, I found it very interesting and different from our mosques but the same spirit and feelings.

Thursday 14 March, the staff decide to close the church at 17:45 and kicks everyone out seeming impatient, security even not giving the visitors a chance to take a photo! They probably have more exciting things to do at home? (I did insist on taking my photo in the end: attached)

This is such a wonderful experience-especially at Christmas. Very atmospheric. Beautiful church & takented musicians. Lovely.
