Why oh why do have to have to pour my water away from a reusable bottle. Poor show. Staff great, but won't drink here again. Update to reply to Owner: The security on the front advised i was not allowed to take in external drinks. These 500ml refillable bottles where in the sides of my backpack. I said it was water, he took the bottles away for storage. Which was fine. After i bought the first round, the group decided not to stay, so I got them back, on the condition i would not drink them, then was told pour them away and checked at the bar i had done so. This spoilt otherwise good night. The water was poured out outside the pub. I can understand if it was beer or other drinks that where sold. But i carry water to make sure, i hydrate after drinking alcohol. We regularly go for a curry in the area and shame that the Castle was not welcoming.

I went in for post gig drinks with my friend, it was quite lively, a nice mix of customers and a good atmosphere. All the staff were very efficient and polite. They had a good choice of drinks which were well priced and the place was nicely decorated. I'd recommend this pub for drinks if you're in the area

Standard London pub, nothing special. Seating is a bit limited, and at night, it gets packed. As someone who lives nearby, I'm not a big fan of the noise during the night. Easy access from Aldgate East tube station.
