Newstead Abbey Reviews

We didn’t go into the Abbey, but the gardens were lovely, well kept, can’t wait to see them in spring full of colour. The cafe was a nice quaint little place, reasonably priced and friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. Not sure prices for parking, as we walked here.

A very calm place to spend couple of hours, the historical home is open only on weekends and bank holidays and cost £12 pp, but all the gardens are free, parking charge £6 per car.

Spent a lovely Sunday afternoon walking around the gardens of the Abbey. We didn't go inside this time but when we visit again we will. To park your car the cost is £6.

Fantastic place to visit. Very interesting and knowledgeable both about the buildings previous use as an abbey prior to reformation and Henry 8th and regarding the life ane times of lord Byron. The garden is a also beautiful and peaceful place to relax and walk around. Staff and volunteers are very enthusiastic, kind and helpful. Would fully recommend. Costs 2 quid to gain entry to the gardens and another 12 quid to get into the abbey/house itself.

Really nice place to spend time even during winter. Huge area to explore. Just make sure you enter from A60. Sometimes google map show another road through Newstead abbey village. If you go to that place you have to walk about 3 miles. But if you enter from A60, it just a short distance parking is very close to the Abbey.
