New Theatre - Oxford Reviews

We came here today to see The Wizard of Oz musical. There was a massive queue starting at the front of the building and went right around the back of it🤦‍♂️ Though it moved really fast and we were at the front in no time. We was then put in another line for the stalls, I think we could of come straight to this tiny line straight away, it wasn't very well indicated, or instructed by theatre staff. Then we was straight in then, and in no time found our seats near the front. The theatre was quite amazing inside, you would think you could be in Central London, being in here. So pleased to have this theatre so close to us😀

Centrally located in Oxford and having some renovations done. Lovely little theatre but traditional with a lot of stairs if you are in the balcony seats. We were in Row H, Balcony which is pretty much as high as you can go. Can still see the stage but very steep stairs to the seats and about 25-30 stairs to get to the balcony area from the street level. There is a balcony bar and toilets so you don't have to go all the way down for facilities but again more stairs. The seats are very comfortable though once settled. Parking close to the theatre is almost impossible so a lot of people including myself parked at the Westgate Shopping Centre which is about a 5 to 10 minute walk away. Quickest way out of the shops to the theatre once you are on ground level is to walk towards the escalators in front of you with John Lewis behind you. Go up the escalators and then turn left and walk straight until you are out of the mall. This is the best exit to get to the street to walk to the theatre. Parking in March 2024 was £4.40 for the whole evening when arriving after 5pm.

We had a fantastic time. Watched Jesus Christ Superstar. Absolutely amazing show. Drinks weren't too expensive either. Definitely go again

Great evening despite a medical emergency and we were all evacuated for approx 1 hour just after the interval while medics attended. But as they say "The show must go on" and it did and The Bootleg Beatles didn't disappoint. Hoping the person who was taken ill has made a full recovery.

Easy entry, two queues good idea, scary high in clouds balcony (felt a bit wobbly, and don't normally!). Wonderful old building with lots of character. Seats comfy. Got lost in maze of stairs!! :-)
