A stunning house and gardens. Enjoy a walk and then hang out in the stables. Throw a pot, indulge in a simple but perfect lunch or a cheeky Friyay cocktail with live music🍸

An unusually warm sunny day in October 2023 and a lovely visit to the gardens, surrounding woodland, and riverside. Cheap as chips entry and sooo very peaceful, easy to spend a couple of hours ambling along the many footpaths throughout the gardens, superb for lone dog walkers (didn't see anyone at all other than one staff member) some great photo opportunities and finished off with a lovely cup of tea and slice of cake at the Stables cafe. Lovely friendly staff and cakes to die for!

Stunning place. A must visit for events or just wandering the wonderful gardens. Filled with history and the beautiful estate building.

Relaxed, unspoiled affordable antidote to National Trust gardens. Worth the gardens entrance fee. The cafe is bijou with light options. To find the entrance, look for signs to the cafe at the bottom of the hill.

Lovely gardens and scenery. Unfortunately the house was closed for our visit. As others have said it could really do with some investment, but for £5 per person, I think it's worth a visit for an hour or so. We practically had the gardens to ourselves which was nice.
